Are you looking for a Product Designer role in Sydney? Based on this, they are now looking to expand their Sydney design team.
About the Company
My client delivers specialist, innovative technology to the communication, security and industrial sectors. This is a successful Australian company, who have their Design headquarters in Sydney.
In this Product Designer role, you'll be involved in full product design, material selection and supplier interaction/selection. You'll also be responsible for creating Bills of Materials, Quality Assurance and production overview and control. This is a unique opportunity to have complete control of your design from concept to the consumer. Applicants from either a consultancy or in-house environment are welcomed.
Skills and experience
With a minimum of 2 years experience, you'll have/be:
Qualifications: Industrial, Product or Mechanical Design (Degree not essential)
Consultancy or in-house experience
Experience in Solidworks or similar Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator), Keyshot
Ability to work to briefs and deadlines and be agile around ever-changing priorities
Good time management
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across multi-disciplined teams
Ownership of complete product from concept to full production
Experience of working with 3rd party manufacturers and material suppliers
Knowledge of materials and their properties and applications
Experience of plastics/injection moulding, sheet metal/fabrication, castings, machined components etc.
Comfortable with the challenges of both form and functionality
Good communicator across all levels (internally and externally)
Culture of collaboration and exploration, encouraging you to develop ideas and potential new products
Whole product evolutionary cycle
Ownership of work from start to finish - all aspects of design ideation and components/systems
Multi-disciplined team environment
Liaison with suppliers and manufacturing partners (Adelaide and Korea)
Pool car for work travel

Centrally located, close to transport links
